This page explains what happens to the information you hand over when you register, post in a board, list a name in the marketplace or send us a message. It covers the forum, the appraisal threads and the contact routes on this site. Last updated: 14 March 2025.
Account details you type in yourself: display name, email address, and an optional phone number if you add one to your profile. Post content, including appraisal requests, comparable sales you paste in, screenshots and the names you list or ask about. Messages sent through the contact form, plus the subject line and any attachments. Technical data your browser sends on every request: IP address, device and browser type, referring page, and timestamps on thread activity.
We set a session cookie so you stay logged in between pages, and a small preference cookie that remembers your board filters and thread view. Analytics events record page views, which boards get opened and whether a form was submitted. They are not used to build advertising profiles. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the forum will still read, but you will need to sign in again on each visit.
To run your account, publish your posts under your handle, keep appraisal threads readable for members who come later, and reply to messages you send us. We also use aggregated activity to spot spam accounts and duplicate listings in the marketplace. We do not sell member data, and we do not pass your email to other members unless you put it in a public post yourself.
Hosting and server logs sit with our infrastructure provider. Email delivery for registration confirmations and password resets runs through a mail service. Analytics is handled by a third-party processor under a data processing agreement. Where a dispute thread involves escrow or a registrar, we may share the relevant post and timeline with the parties named in it. Anything beyond that needs your consent or a lawful request.
Account records stay while your profile is open and for twelve months after you close it, so old threads keep their context. Contact form messages are kept for two years. Server logs roll off after ninety days. If you ask us to delete a post, we remove the body but may leave a placeholder line so replies further down the thread still make sense.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold on you, request corrections to your profile, or have your account and personal posts erased. You can withdraw consent for analytics at any time without losing forum access. Members in the EU and UK have the same rights under GDPR, and California members under CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Send requests to the address below and we will confirm within thirty days.
